Welcome to the sixth edition of the DST guide, which has had many great moments in it's lifetime, including the surge of people who checked out this guide, along with the DST updates over at Kuttsywood's Couchcushion, throughout last year, which will be returning next week. There will be no hashtag this year... or is there? However, we will open up proceedings for this year with some long term warnings, for events concerning the digital restack in the coming months.
Digital Restack: aka, "the Retune".
The current timeframe of restack, will see four restack events during the upcoming DST time period.
1. BRISBANE SOUTH EAST(the new gap-filler commissioned upon digital switchover earlier this year), at Wolffdene (involving 7,9,SBS) on November 20, 2013.
2. COLLINSVILLE NORTH IBL, at Briaba (involving WIN, SC10, 7QLD) on March 12, 2014
3. THEODORE, servicing the Theodore region (involving the ABC) also on March 12, 2014.
and 4. STUART, at Partington Railway Yard, servicing Townsville's outskirts, (involving all commercials, and the ABC) on April 4, 2014.
There is another area we will also advise you of now, around a year in advance, as it could likely be lost in Schoolies preparations, and Brisbane G20 news at that time. Over two days in November 2014, (18th and 19th of November) all three Gold Coast transmission sites will take part in a major restack operation involving all commercial and national broadcasters, aligning all channels to two distinct groups again: Tamborine group, and Southern GC group (Currumbin and Hinterland).
