Welcome to the second half of Game 3, of the Content Survey Live World Championships.
Last night, Brisbane tried to achieve a blow to try and attempt to force us to a Game 4.
Brisbane scored: 6.6/10, with a David Hill Number of 5, for a combined score of 11.6.

Tonight, Boston has a lot to prove... especially if they want to achieve a shutout.
Now, let's get onto the ground rules.
We now must remind you (and in the case of Brisbane: explain) the ground rules for the 2026 Content Survey Live season.
THE GROUND RULES
Our focus, in Content Survey Live will be monitoring multiple news services over a significant timespan (a benefit of technological change, now allowing us to watch American news bulletins here in Australia), using the a slight modification of the same criteria we used in the “Great Local News Study” from Kuttsy's Pitch XI in August, 2019 and in Content Survey Live between 2020 and 2024.
-Locally sourced stories: that is stories reported by local journos. Really big local market stories with national impacts, also fit here. Voiced over local stories are counted separately.
-Live crosses: stuff that is used to embellish a story.
-Weather and traffic reports are not counted.
-Sport stories are counted for one point if it’s a voiced over piece: but… if you have a reporter on the scene reporting on the event, it counts for two points. This sports reporting scoring system is a modified version of the “Ray Robinson Number” from the 2024 special event, and the 2025 edition of Content Survey Live, which was utilized to examine overnight news, and will be counted up at the end of the regular season as a special secondary achievement going to the market who has the highest sports score.
This number, is known as the David Hill Number: in commemoration of the role Hill played in revolutionizing sports coverage in Australia (as VP for sport for Nine in the mid eighties), the United Kingdom (launching UK cable powerhouse Sky Sports) and in the US (the founding father of Fox Sports, whose innovations reshaped NFL and other sport coverage for the better).
In addition, all scores in 2026 will be reported in a new format: a ranking out of 10: David Hill Number (e.g. 5.8/10 and a David Hill Number of 3) rather than separating these figures out.
Now let’s look at the Boston contribution to Game 3.
We begin tonight, with a weekend weather segment off the bat: almost if they want to get Brisbane done before the fall equinox: while we get another excerpt from the Patrick Clancy interview on 60 Minutes this Sunday US time.
Meanwhile, the voiced over stock is slightly down on Game 1 and 2, but is still strong: with stories on a lead concerning a Holbrook hit and run from earlier this week, a Taunton murder charge, the former police chief of Methuen faces fraud charges, a Concord Woods Hill Table location shuts due to something not on the menu: salmonella, a voiced over piece on a Kennedy Center protest, The significant local legal case concerning adult photography of minors for the wrong reasons gets significantly worse, A MBTA commuter train hits a car in Gloucester, just as the MBTA's federal safety oversight over it's network ends (with a return to state control), and we close with the red carpet at the screening of "The Rise of The Hollywood Vampires" at the Boston Film Festival.
Sport, tonight was on a winner, with hype for the Steelers/Patriots game on Sunday US time, and a injury wrap early on, a wrap of the Red Sox in Tampa, now likely playoff bound, while Red Sox rookies let their hair down on the last roadtrip of the regular season, more preview of Sunday's game, the return of Stephon Gilmore to Foxboro, to accept a one day contract with the Patriots, just to say he retired with them.
But, the biggest sports story tonight didn't come from training near Gillette Stadium. It came from a middle school nearby, where WBZ covered the first high-school fixture of the season (2 points for the David Hill Number.)

Well, here we are. Brisbane's best, last night was not quite enough, to topple the American challenger. for Content Survey Live, this moment has shown the arrival of the international competitor as the big challenge: as it shows how our bulletins with the combination local/national format here in Australia can be competitive with the purely local (with some national) format most American late night news services are formatted as.
The problems Brisbane takes out of this are one concerning the 6pm slot. There is effectively now a 4 minute opportunity for people to switch off 10 in Brisbane (enough time to watch the Final Chase, or the last drops on Tipping Point and not come back for Sharyn at six) while the "faster version" in the marketing for the 6pm bulletin is beaten when the actual faster version at six should be a Boston-paced bulletin (limited full stories, weather not closing the news and breaks put in places they need to be including between sport and the closer.
Boston, is what 10 in Australia should aspire to: it truly is the one for all, while the community presence on 10 is limited at best, especially if the 7/9 bidding wars are now going onto tier two events on TV schedules (e.g. Carols in The Domain) after sewing up the majority of tier one sport and events away from 10's grasp.
The push by 10 needs to be grassroots, and local. 10 News+ was done wrong: it needed to be the national newscast that allowed 10 to remove the national stories out of 5pm bulletins and pave the way for further investment in the only local content left for the network that works: news.
And that's something that is going to become a budget issue for Nine and Seven in the years to come.

The most famous international sporting encounter for Australians: is about to come to the field of content survey… so Australia can reclaim those metaphorical ashes sent to Britain… and perhaps show the UK a thing or two…

The “Project Union Jack”, we alluded to on Boxing Day 2025, is not Content Survey Live: Brittania or Content Survey Live: The Ashes on their own.
It represents both events collectively: because we felt that you couldn’t have a England-based Content Survey Live event, without a twist on the traditional Australian survey formula pitting Australia and England against each other.
We are already hard at work programming a Content Survey Live schedule well into 2028 and 2029. The American adventure this year has given us confidence, to think big… and think beyond a year in advance.
It represents both events collectively: because we felt that you couldn’t have a England-based Content Survey Live event, without a twist on the traditional Australian survey formula pitting Australia and England against each other.
We are already hard at work programming a Content Survey Live schedule well into 2028 and 2029. The American adventure this year has given us confidence, to think big… and think beyond a year in advance.
The World Championships, also have played their part: because next year’s second coming, it’ll be a three night triple threat. This lineup will consist of 10 News First Adelaide (the winner of 24/7 in July) V newly crowned World Champion, WBZ Boston V the winner of Content Survey Live: Brittania.
